Other Places
There were many interesting and beautiful stops while traveling from one part of the country to another. Below are some pictures from those places. En route from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio, we stopped for a couple of hours at Rio Tarcoles. We stood on a bridge and saw many crocodiles in the river below. Then we had a beautiful lunch at a covered outdoor area surrounded by beautiful gardens, with the sounds of two marimba players in the background.
While traveling from Manuel Antonio to San Gerardo de Dota, we stopped to go horseback riding at Hacienda Nosavar, a 640-hectare cattle ranch. Some members of the group, including myself, chose to go on a nature walk with our tour guide instead of horseback riding. The grounds were filled with birds and other kinds of wildlife. We also went to a dairy farm called Finca Don Tavo, and had the opportunity to milk a cow.
When traveling from San Jose to San Carlos, we stopped at a wood factory and The Doka Estate for a tour of the coffee plantation. The wood factory had a great gift shop with very inexpensive prices. The grounds of the coffee plantation were pretty and we had a delicious buffet lunch there, which was one of the best meals of the trip. We got to sample different types of coffee after the tour. I highly recommend the Peaberry. I bought a couple of bags to take home.
